South Carolina Celebration: Ansel Adams: Celebration of Genius
A variety of Beaufort County artists and photographers including Hullie Moore, John Curry, Ed Funk, Mary Kelly, Pam Johnson Brickell share insights and demonstrations that bring Ansel Adams photography exhibition to life. Event geared towards Beaufort County residents and art/environmental organizations in Savannah.

Nature Journaling: Johnson Brickell is an artist and amateur naturalist who has been nature journaling and painting for over thirty years. She will show examples of her nature journals and demonstrate how a journal entry can be used as a spring board to create another piece of art.

2007 - Pam has been invited by Spring Island Trust (SIT) to conduct a three day Nature Journaling/Art in the Field Workshop in October. The SIT Nature & Arts Program committee annually selects international, national and regional artist candidates on the basis of their artistic achievement to participate in their Visiting Artist Program.

Spring Island is best described as a 3000-acre nature park located southwest of historic Beaufort between the Colleton and Chechessee Rivers in the South Carolina Lowcountry. For more information on Spring Island visit www.springisland.com and www.springislandtrust.org

2004 - Feature artist for the Rochester, NY area International Migratory Bird Day (IMBD) celebration at Braddock Bay.

Commissioned by BirdCOR and Environmental Education & Conservation Global, Inc to create the 2004 IMBD poster depicting Colonial Nesting Birds.

 

 

2003 -  Commissioned by the Genesee Valley Audubon Society (GVAS) to create a
watercolor of Rochester, NY’s Peregrine Falcons which nest, year after year, on the Eastman Kodak Tower.

Limited edition fine art prints, created from the original painting, are used as premium gifts for donations to the Urban Peregrine Transmitter Fund.

GVAS partnered with The Migration Research Foundation to fund the purchase for a
lightweight transmitter, satellite monitoring, and data analysis services for a fledgling from the 2004 clutch.

 


Be sure to check out www.rfalconcam.com each year, mid to late March, to watch Mariah and Kaver as they begin nesting, and finally, raising their young in the nest box. The cam offers live, multiple camera views of the nest box. Great fun!
